The Best Faith Based Family Resources

The best faith-based familiy resources for young kids!Today I’m taking a break from DIY to share some of my favorite faith-based family resources with you all.  I recently was given the opportunity to try out the Buddy Box subscription program and thought it would be fun to share how we liked it as well as round up some of my other favorite resources for kids Bible stories.

The Jesus Storybook Bible – This has become a classic and is our absolute favorite Children’s Bible. Each story is so beautifully written and always points back to the Gospel. The illustrations are so sweet as well. While all 3 girls enjoy listening to us read and looking at the pictures, Lula (our 7 year old) probably gets the most out of it.

Thoughts To Make Your Heart Sing – This little devotional is also written by Sally Lloyd-Jones. Each page has a short little devotional and Bible verse. It’s the perfect way to get our day started in the morning before school. I love using it as a resource for Bible memory verses for the kids because each verse is short and meaningful, so oftentimes we will choose one from the week and write it on our chalkboard to memorize.

The Big Picture Bible – Another amazing children’s Bible! This one in particular is awesome for small children. The illustrations are engaging and the stories are easy to understand. Our girls love this one and ask to read from it on a daily basis. Even a toddler will enjoy it which is great.

Buddy Box – I was excited to discover this subscription service and try it out! Each month, you are sent a box of goodies that are all centered around a common faith-based theme. There are various activities, games and craft projects that all correspond with the same lesson.

When the box landed on the doorstep, we were ready to go!

We opened it up to find an array of fun goodies! It kinda felt like Christmas morning to the girls.

This month’s theme was “Fright Takes Flight” and it was all about fighting your fears. There was a card explaining each thing in the box and what it was for.

We got to work exploring all of the activities. We did experiments with clay and water, discovered disappearing ink and all sorts of fun stuff.

The girls loved their first experience with Buddy Box Subscription and I think it would be so fun for kids of all ages. What an exciting thing to get in the mail each week and an extra way to squeeze in some great lessons about the Bible.
