I’m trucking along with the repurposing projects. This one was definitely an experiment. It turned out so-so. I think with some tweaking, it could be super cute though!
Step 4: Pin on the collar stand, right sides together, sew.
Step 5 Pin on the cuffs, right sides together.
Step 6: Sew and turn right side out.
Step 7: Cut a skinny piece of elastic the width of the shirt. (It will stretch around the entire shirt, but you want it 1/2 that size)
Step 8: Pin on the elastic where you want it to begin, right next to the buttons.
Step 9: Sew in place and stretch as you sew. I just used the lines on the plaid as my guide, but you could draw a line with washable ink or chalk.
Done! I love the concept, I just think mine turned out a little too small. Also, next time I would make the neckline just a little wider/deeper.
See how the buttons gape open a bit? A little snug! Oh well, that is what this whole challenge is about, right? I’m trying things out and I can’t have all my projects turn out perfectly.
Those tiny piggy tails are pretty cute, don’t you think? She has barely enough hair to make it work!
