Nursery Update

I realized it’s been awhile since I’ve posted about Pearl’s nursery.  The truth is, I made it look presentable and then just kinda stopped.  I still want to add some artwork to her walls and I actually have the frames and a plan. But, here it is in progress.

If you remember, I painted the walls a very light gray. This room is super hard to photograph. It looks like just plain white walls and very stark in the pictures, but in real life, they are light gray and the room is light and air feeling.  I made the roller shades and curtains right after I painted it.

We found this glider and ottoman at a thrift store for only $20.   My mom was nice enough to cover the cushions in gray and white chevron.  I also found some vintage fabric at a garage sale with the exact same colors as the nursery, so I made a pillow and may put some in a frame.

I covered the lampshade in some gray, yellow and pink fabric.

And I spray painted the little end table hot pink. It used to be orange.

The sunburst mirror used to be in our bedroom and I moved it to hang over the dresser/changing table.  I also already had the basket and just spray painted it yellow.

If you remember,  I made the light fixture out of a basket.

And my favorite part of the room is the bird mobile that I made out of Christmas ornaments.

I made over the bookshelf with paint and some wrapping paper.  And I also made the little “P” that you see propped up on top. I’m going to find a home for that and post about how I  made it!

I hope to hang some artwork over the crib and I also have a shelf to hang.  I made the crib skirt and decided not to do a bumper pad. Oh yes, and my mom made the adorable chevron quilt! Isn’t it cute?

So, there you have it! A nursery still in progress, but Pearl likes it!
