Remember my June goals? As June comes to an end, I think I’m doing pretty well on them. I’ve done one kid art project so far and I have another one to share today! This brings back memories from my days of being an art teacher. I tweaked it to make it even more fun for my fairy obsessed Lula!
These bubble paintings are so ethereal looking, that I thought they could be deemed “fairy paintings” First, you start off with some tempera paint, dish soap, a little water and a straw. I like to put about 2 Tbs of paint, 1 tbs of soap and a few tbs of water in a cup and put that cup in a shallow dish to catch any bubble overflow.
After mixing it up, just blow through the straw and watch the colorful bubbles appear! If you trust your child NOT to drink the liquid, have them blow the bubbles or for smaller children, you can blow the bubbles and they can catch them on the paper.
lightly press a piece of heavy paper onto the bubbles and they will make prints on the paper.
You can keep repeating this with different colors until the paper is full!
Lula wanted to draw a fairy on hers, so I gave her sharpie and let her draw her little creature.
Her little fairy is now sitting on her fairy clouds!
This would be a great project to do outside to avoid a mess and the sun will dry the paint quickly! Have fun!
