Lately I’ve been trying to get into the habit of making homemade cleaning products again to save a little money. I realized that the all natural cleaner I was using, probably wasn’t the best choice for our granite countertops. I did a little research and came up with this homemade granite cleaner that is also all natural and super frugal! So far it has worked well for us and saved a bunch because store bought granite cleaner can be quite pricey! All you need are a few ingredients to whip this up. It works on other surfaces besides granite too. I use it on our tile as well to make it sparkle!
How to make homemade granite cleaner? All you need is castile soap, rubbing alcohol and essential oils. Mix it together in an old spray bottle and use anytime your countertops need to be cleaned.
How To Make Homemade Granite Cleaner
It can be expensive to purchase specific granite countertop cleaner. However, a lot of conventional cleaners can leave a buildup on granite counters. I have noticed that my counters will often have a dull residue on them after I clean them and they lack that beautiful shine. I wanted to make my own homemade granite cleaner to save money and effectively clean my countertops.
This recipe can also be used on tile in your kitchen or bathroom. Get a pretty glass spray bottle and fill it with this homemade granite cleaner for a thoughtful housewarming gift. You could even print a label with the instructions to make it again once it gets used up!
Materials Needed For Homemade Granite Cleaner
Here’s what you will need:
- 1 empty glass spray bottle
- 1/3 cup rubbing alcohol
- 3-4 drops Dr. Bronner’s Soap
- 10 drops essential oil
- 3 cups water
Mix all of the ingredients together in the spray bottle and you are ready to clean! The measurements are not exact, so add less or more water depending on what size of spray bottle you have. There isn’t an exact science to this homemade granite cleaner!
