I recently teamed up with Milo’s Cafe Style Tea to bring you an easy tutorial for DIY Coasters, perfect for setting your summer drinks. These coasters are actually glass candle plates that are the perfect size for stashing a mason jar full of some iced sweet tea. I just love how easy they were and super cheap to make!
It’s simple to decorate glass coasters with patterns and designs. You only need a few supplies that are inexpensive to find. These coasters would make such a cute gift!
DIY Glass Coasters
Milo’s Cafe Style Tea is super yummy and not overly sweet. I love that it is organic and it’s made with organic cane sugar and stevia instead of high fructose corn syrup. I am actually not normally a huge sweet tea fan, but I genuinely love this stuff. So, I was excited to come up with a little idea for some DIY coasters to showcase how great this tea is for a summer treat!
Materials Needed For DIY Glass Coasters
For this project, you will need:
- Small Glass Candle Plates (I found mine at Michaels in the candle section!)
- White Paint Pen
- Gold Leaf Pen (optional)
It’s really so simple. All I did was flip the plates over and make some designs with a white paint pen on the back.
The paint pen adheres to the glass very well and since it’s on the underside, it won’t rub off from condensation.
You will notice that I did try one with some gold leaf on the outer edge. The gold leaf pen did not adhere to the glass as well as the paint pen, so that’s why I decided to just use the paint pen for the others. But traditional gold leaf sheets might work better. I don’t know how durable they would be though!
I think they turned out pretty cute and would make such an easy yet personal gift! I could also see kids loving this project or some sayings in beautiful calligraphy. So many possibilities!
If you are interested in trying Milo’s Cafe Style Tea for yourself, check out where to get it in your area. It comes in Sweet, Light Sweet, Green Citrus, Light Green Citrus.
I found mine at Walmart in the refrigerated juice and dairy section due to the tea being all natural.
