Pearl’s Picture Perfect Wall

I recently updated the wall over Pearl’s changing table. I framed a few meaningful pieces and created a mini-collage.

It used to look like this:

I wrapped the “P” in yarn shortly before she was born and added some felt flowers. I  had never gotten to hanging it up until now. Typical!

The little spoon above the P is my new favorite thing. You may have seen it if you follow me on Instagram.

My great great Aunt’s name was Pearl and she gave a lot of her belongings to my Grandmother who then gave them to my parents. This little spoon was in her stocking from my parents on Christmas. I just framed some scrapbook paper and stuck the spoon to the paper with painter’s tape. It has held up nicely so far.

You may be confused as to why I would frame a paint swatch.  If you look closely, that middle color is called “Pearl Violet” which if of course my Pearl’s name. Reid said her name sounded like a crayon color when she was born…he wasn’t too far off! Maybe someday I will paint something for her in this lovely little color, but for now I just had to frame the swatch.

The other frame is filled with this vintage piece of fabric that I found at a yard sale when I was pregnant. I made a pillow for the glider and decided the frame the leftovers. It’s such a sweet print and the colors match everything else perfectly.

So, there you have it! I love collecting meaningful things like this and luckily I already had everything on hand to make this little collage!
