For some reason, fall brings out the organizing bug in me. As soon as new school supplies and clothes make their way into my home, I get the urge to purge all of our junk to make room for the new. Maybe someday I will go full on Marie Kondo, but I’m not there yet. It’s all about baby steps. Now that we completely transformed my girls shared bedroom, I realized they desperately needed a way to organize their desk area. So, when I knew I needed some little organizing baskets, where did I turn to? You guessed it, the Dollar Tree! If you are new here, you might need to take a peek back at my Dollar Tree love affair. I grabbed some vintage fabric and covered these little baskets to make them perfect for my daughters’ desk.
DIY Organizing: Vintage Fabric Baskets
All you need are a few supplies to cover some of your own Dollar Tree baskets to make the inside of a drawer a little happier.
Here’s what you will need:
- Small Baskets
- Fabric Mod Podge
- Foam Brush
Use the bottom of your basket as a guide to cut the shape of the fabric.
Brush on a thin layer of the Mod Podge.
Carefully place your cut fabric inside the organizing basket and brush on another layer of Mod Podge.
You may want to add a few layers of the Mod Podge to make these really durable. Allow to dry for about 12 hours and you are ready to go! You’ve gotta see how I have used Dollar Tree stuff to organize other areas of my home! I also dressed up some organizing bins for a totally different look. And I used some Dollar Tree hacks to organize our bathroom!
