Recently, I posted on Instagram a photo of our main bathroom. It is currently completely torn out as we are embarking on yet another bathroom remodel project. Hopefully this one goes a little smoother than last time! The main bathroom is where our girls’ do all their business and now they have been uprooted to brush their teeth and get ready in our tiny master bathroom. I came up with a way for them to take their toothbrushes and toothpaste with them by making this DIY pencil case travel toothbrush holder! I think these turned out pretty cute and would be perfect for traveling anywhere. It’s also super cheap because I scored the slide out pencil cases at the Dollar Tree! I transformed these same guys using fabric and Mod Podge awhile back! For this post, I’m teaming up with Boka, who recently let me try out some of their awesome and natural dental products!
If you aren’t familiar with Boka, you can subscribe to get a box delivered to your door every 3 months. I know that I always forget to change out our toothbrushes, so this is such a convenient way to remember to do that when new ones arrive at your doorstep!
The other cool thing is that Boka toothbrushes are made with Binchotan activated charcoal bristles, which naturally helps prevent bacteria from growing on your brush. And Boka’s minty toothpaste is made with natural ingredients and essential oils like peppermint and mint. It contains no sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), fluoride, triclosan, artificial flavors or parabens. I’ll be honest, most “natural” toothpastes I’ve tried have just not done the job for me. But this toothpaste really does taste great and my teeth feel really clean. I love that it’s safe for kids too.
Our box also came with some pouches of coconut oil rinse to do oil pulling! I’ve always wanted to try this and I’m excited to give it a shot.
Now, on to the tutorial so that you have a way to transport your dental hygiene products with you. Grab some slide out pencil cases. Like I said before, I found mine at the Dollar Tree.
I painted mine white first, but you could skip this step. Find your favorite pattern of contact paper and cover the entire thing. Cut holes for the snaps.
They fit a toothbrush and toothpaste perfectly. You could also squeeze a small floss in there too if you wanted!
These DIY pencil case toothbrush holders would make great small gifts. You could even personalize them further by adding names to the front. SO fun!
