My post from a few years ago on my kids canvas letter art is still very popular, so I thought it would be fun to create a miniature version for some new kids art ideas! These little canvases are just so adorable and can be turned into magnets, ornaments or just grouped together on a wall. They turn out great every time, no matter the age of your kids (or adults) creating one!
For this project, you will need:
Simply place the vinyl letters on the canvases, making sure the edges are completely sealed. We don’t want any paint seeping through later!
Give your kids paint and let them go to town painting over their letter and canvas. As I have mentioned in my canvas letter art post, give them a limited palette of colors. This will prevent the canvases from turning into a solid brown color. Also, rotate the canvas for them if they are just painting in one spot. And once it’s pretty much covered, take it away before everything turns muddy. Give them another piece of paper if they want to keep painting!
Allow the canvases to dry…the acrylic paint dries pretty fast, but if you are impatient, use the hair dryer to speed up this process!
Once completely dry, take off the letters!
Attach some strong magnets to the back with hot glue.
Or a ribbon if you want to hang it as an ornament or on the wall!
Aren’t they so pretty?
I love them on the fridge and my kids are just so proud of themselves. Be sure to check out my canvas letter art for a giant version of these!
