I recently came up with this slow cooker pineapple bbq pork recipe and it is amazingly delicious! It couldn’t have been easier to throw together on a busy weekday and the flavors of the bbq and pineapple do something crazy in the slow cooker that make this one of the yummiest ways to eat pork! KC Masterpiece reached out to me to create an easy one pot meal and I was excited to create something easy for a school night. Being from Kansas City, I thought this would be a great time to share a KC BBQ inspired recipe. You can enjoy it while you cheer on the Royals this week in the World Series!
For this recipe, I used the KC Masterpiece Fiery Habanero Honey barbeque sauce. It has the perfect balance of sweet and spice. The dish is on the spicy side, so if you have kids or a more sensitive palette, another KC Masterpiece sauce would work just as well!
You basically throw everything into your slow cooker and in 8 hours you have an amazing pulled pork sandwich! The sweet pineapple with the spicy sauce make this SO flavorful and the pork gets super tender in the slow cooker!
Slow Cooker Pineapple BBQ Pork
1 40 oz. bottle of KC Masterpiece Fiery Habanero Honey barbecue Sauce (Or your favorite flavor)
1 can crushed pineapple
1 TBS Garlic Powder
2 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Pepper
2 TBS Brown Sugar
4-5 lbs pork (a variety of cuts would work. Pork shoulder, pork roast, tenderloin etc.)
Directions: Mix the garlic powder, salt, pepper and brown sugar in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture onto the pork. Place it in the slow cooker and pour the crushed pineapple and half of the bottle of barbecue sauce over the pork. Cook on low for 8-9 hours or high for 6-7 hours. Shred the pork and put it back into the liquid to cook for an additional 30 minutes or so. Serve on buns with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
