Hello! I hope everyone had a nice Labor Day Weekend! I am sharing a Q-tip craft that kind of randomly happened the other day. My Q-tip flowers are one of the most popular posts over on Pinterest. It’s been pinned over 36,000 times! So, when I saw some styrofoam letters on clearance at Joann’s, I had the idea to do a Q-tip it up! These cotton swab crafts are perfect for kids, they love pushing the swabs into the styrofoam.
Here’s how I did it! This is what you will need:
You will need:
Fabric Mod Podge
My original plan was to have Q-tips on the sides as well, but I could not push them in far enough because the ones of the top were blocking them. So, I had to go with a different plan. Just put them in the top.
Mix up some food coloring and water in a shallow dish. You want the color to be quite saturated. I have tried different colors and I have found that an aqua/teal works best. But you can definitely try whatever you want!
Let them dry. It takes about 24 hours for the Q-tips to fully dry!
I don’t have step by step photos for this part, but I just used some fabric Mod Podge and added a strip of fabric around the edge. You could probably also do this with craft paper.
