4 WAYS TO STYLE YOUR SHELVES FOR FALL6If you know me, you know that I’m ALL about decorating on a budget. One of the areas that I refuse to spend money on is seasonal decor. I would rather invest in pieces that I can have year round. But, that’s not to say that you can still decorate seasonally with a little bit of creativity! I am going to show you how I styled some floating shelves in four different decor styles using things that I recently thrifted, bought at the dollar store or already had on hand. (A.K.A. I basically spent no money!) It’s all about creating the mood that you want without going crazy or getting carried away with tons of useless seasonal decor that just takes up space!

One way to create a mood without having to incorporate decor at all is by using candles. Whenever there is the slightest hint of fall in the air, I immediately break out my warm, autumnal scented candles. It just makes me feel so cozy and peaceful.  When I was asked to team up with American Home by Yankee Candle® Brand, I jumped at the chance because I truly love Yankee Candles but they are so dang expensive!! When I heard that they have an affordable line at Walmart, I made sure to grab some next time I was there. (They are located with the other candles and range from $10-$15 for the larger jars and less than $2 for the smaller votives, in case you were curious how they compare to more expensive brands!)

I chose 3 different fragrances and they seriously smell amazing!

AMERICAN HOME CANDLES

Now I was ready to create some styled shelves and set the mood with my American Home by Yankee Candle® Brand. My main goal was to challenge myself to only use things that I have recently thrifted or purchased from the dollar store and then shop my home for the rest. These are the things I grabbed the other day at Goodwill:

THRIFT STORE FINDSEverything was $1.99 or less. How amazing is that plate? I love it so much and it almost looks like a pumpkin!

GEOMETRIC TRAY

I also picked up this geometric tray from a garage sale for $1. I decided to spray paint it white and I love it!

Lastly, I grabbed some small pumpkins for $1 and spray painted them white as well.

The four different decor styles I came up with were monochromatic, glam, traditional and rustic.

4 WAYS TO STYLE YOUR SHELVES FOR FALL

First up, Traditional!

4 ways to style your shelves for fallBy layering the different textures and adding in the bunting, you get more of a homey shabby chic feel.  While it’s not really my style, I wanted to show how you can create so many different looks out of inexpensive basic decor items.

Next up, Rustic!

4 WAYS TO STYLE YOUR SHELVES FOR FALLI love adding in natural elements. The wood slice and greenery make this a rustic look. You could easily switch out the pumpkins for some evergreen elements to make this look work for Christmas!

One of my favorites: Monochromatic!

I’ve learned that if you group a bunch of white stuff together, it instantly looks a little more chic. I added the slab of marble (also a thrift store find) instead of the baskets to still keep with the layered theme.

Finally: Glam!

4 Ways to Style Your Shelves For FallI think this one might be my favorite, it also kept it the most simplistic. Adding in a few metallic elements with white and some greenery gives a laid back but glamorous feel to any vignette!
