DIY Leather and Gold Bracelets

Pssst…scroll to the end of this post for an exciting Christmas giveaway!

It’s time to start thinking about what Christmas gifts you want to buy and which ones you want to DIY.  I ‘m loving delicate jewelry right now and I thought it would be fun to try to DIY some. I had an old gold necklace that I deconstructed, combined it with some leather that I cut into geometric shapes and viola: a modern yet delicate bracelet that any girl would love to have in her stocking.

You will need some simple jewelry tools for this project. Borrow some if you don’t have any or use a coupon to buy some at the craft store. They are inexpensive and great to have around for repairing broken necklaces and earrings!

You will need:
A Gold Chain (You can purchase one at the craft store or use an old necklace)
Round nose pliers
Awl or Sharp tool
Leather
Gold clasp
Gold jump rings

First, cut your leather shape. Then, using the awl, make 2 small holes on either side.

Attach your jump rings to the leather.

Cut chain to desired length and attach to the jump rings.  Using 2 more jump rings, attach the closure.

Enjoy!

Now, don’t go yet! You might need an adorable custom stocking to put your DIY bracelets in…so I’ve got you covered! Leslee from Knit and Lit is giving away one custom stocking for a reader! These are so cute, I wish I had some.

They are all handmade and come in tons of colors and variations. I just love that they come in non-Christmasy colors. I love decorating for Christmas in non Christmas colors.

If you don’t win the giveaway, you can still purchase some stockings using a 10% discount through Christmas. Yippee! The coupon code is: homemadeginger
