I’m definitely not a gel manicure expert my by any means especially considering the last time I got a manicure was when I get married and the gel kind didn’t exist back then. But, I’m type of person that paints my nails and it lasts maybe 2 days. Usually it’s 1 day. So I did a little Pinterest research and came up with a DIY gel manicure that lasts about 5 days for me!
If you aren’t as hard on your nails as me, yours might last longer. I found this gel manicure method from A Beautiful Mess on Pinterest and tried it out. I loved that it didn’t chip, but the nail polish peeled off all my nails in one giant piece. Maybe I did it wrong, but I decided I needed a different base coat. So, this is the method I came up with!
Step One: Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat – I’ve tried a few different ones and this is by far the best. And it’s cheap!
Step Two: One coat of Gelous nail base coat.
Step Three: One coat of your nail color. I used Essie’s Chinchilly in these photos.
Step Four: One more coat of the Gelous Nail.
Step Five: One coat of nail color.
Step Six: One coat of Gelous Nail.
Step Five: One coat of Seche Vite fast dry top coat.
Yes, that’s a lot of coats. But it goes fast.
Try it out and tell me how it goes!
