Greetings friends! Can you believe that it’s already time to think about Valentine’s Day? Wow, January flew by! Lula is so excited about Valentine’s Day this year that I just had to come up with a few little festive projects. I whipped up this little DIY framed art that is perfect for adding a little V-Day magic to your decor!

First off, you need to buy the Sweetart brand conversation hearts. Other brands of hearts are just stamped with ink and not actually indented into the heart, so you won’t see the words after painting. Does that make sense? Plus, these taste way better in my opinion! (the leftovers, NOT the painted ones! Yikes!)
Grab some gold spray paint (or experiment with other colors if you want to get totally cray cray) and spray your hearts. I did a few light coats on each side.
If you use LIGHT coats, you should still be able to read the words on the hearts
Next, I found some extra scrapbook paper. I love this simple crosshatched design in pinks, reds and golds.
Cut it to the size of your frame and start hot gluing on your hearts
I flipped half of mine over, so that they alternate between plain and a word.
I think it turned out so cute! And the best part is that I really think I will hang this up in my girls’ room after Valentine’s day because it’s so girly and cute that you could have it up all year round.
It actually got me thinking about what other candy items I could spray paint. Guys, I think I might have a problem with my spray paint addiction.
These hearts would also be so cute incorporated into a gift bag or gift wrap. I thought about using them in Lula’s preschool valentines for her classmates, but then I imagined a bunch of 4 & 5 year olds eating their spray painted hearts and I quickly nixed the idea!
