Recently I was asked to review the Marzetti Kitchens website. I love trying new recipes and I’m always looking for meals that my girls will enjoy. Instead of choosing just one recipe, I decided to try three and have a yummy fall meal with the family. Let me tell you, there were so many recipes to choose from and the three I made were all super yummy.
Stay tuned for the end of the post because one lucky reader will win $100 courtesy of the T. Marzetti Company!
We enjoyed Balsamic Glazed Pork Tenderloin
And for dessert, Caramel Cereal Crunch Bars
I chose the pork tenderloin because my girls, especially Lula, despise chicken. This makes life difficult when 80% of the things I make have chicken. So, I decided to switch things up and try the pork tenderloin. I was drawn to this recipe because it uses blackberry jam and balsamic dressing. I thought that sounded so yummy!
The glaze also has cinnamon and red pepper flakes. Sounds odd, but it was REALLY delicious.
You roast the pork first with just salt and pepper and then add the glaze at the end.
And the verdict? It was so juicy and flavorful and my girls ate it! Yay!
As soon as I spotted this apple bacon cabbage slaw, I knew I had to try it. Luckily, Lula and Jane love salad and they are obsessed with bacon (a rare treat), so I knew this would be a winner.
Oh, and I love that this dressing only has a few ingredients and no high fructose corn syrup. I’m not in a stage of life right now where I’m making my own dressings, so I appreciate high quality ones like this.
The salad was SO GOOD. This was my favorite thing that I made.
Of course the bacon is just what makes it wonderful.
And for dessert, I thought I’d treat the girls to these caramel cereal crunch bars. Lula had been asking about rice krispy treats that she had somewhere, and these looked like a yummy version.
She loved helping me mix it all up. It was so easy to throw together.
And of course, we had to add sprinkles.
These made a ton. We had enough leftover to share with some friends who just had a baby.
All in all, the meal was such a treat and it was fun to get the family involved!
There were lots of other fall inspired recipes on the Marzetti Kitchens website. I was really loving all the different recipes involving apples. I will probably be checking it out again this season as I’m always on the lookout for new things to make using ingredients that are in season (a.k.a. things that are on sale).
