I recently tried my hand at embroidery and discovered that it’s really not as hard or scary as I thought it would be. I decided that taking one of my daughter’s cute drawings and turning it into a dish towel would be a sweet and meaningful keepsake gift to give a Mom or Grandma for Mother’s Day. Even teachers would love to receive one of these hand embroidered dish towels.
My daughter loves drawing people and went through a phase where she was drawing all sorts of fairies. I took one of her Tinkerbell drawings and made it into a dish towel. So fun!

Directions For How To Make Mother’s Day Dish Towel Craft
Step One: Trace over every line of your drawing, pressing down pretty hard.
Step Two: Then, you are going to put the drawing face DOWN (so that the lines you just traced are touching the dish cloth) and then iron it with a hot iron.
I put another piece of paper in between the iron and the drawing just to prevent scorching. You can keep lifting the paper to peek to see if the drawing is transferring.
Step Four: Once it’s transferred, you are ready to embroider!
Step Five: Put it in an embroidery hoop and use a simple stitch.
If you have never done embroidery, you can just Google it and find out simple stitches. It’s easy.
And you are done! Isn’t it so cute?
You could also leave the dish towel in the embroidery hoop and hang it on the wall, or turn it into a pillow.
