I attempted another “quick” Saturday project this weekend and was successful this time! It was fast and didn’t require 7 coats of paint. We have a little sofa table in our entryway and I’ve never really liked that space or known what to do with it. I happened to have some mint green chalk paint on hand and decided to give the table a little makeover.
The table before…kind of a catch all for junk as you can see…
I’ve never worked with chalk paint before, but I was pretty impressed at how easily it went on and how FAST it dried. It only took 3 coats to cover the dark wood. I love that there was no sanding or priming required in the process.
I still need to add a coat of wax to finish the table, I plan to do that this week. I found these green little knobs at Hobby Lobby with a coupon. I considered doing a contrasting color, but I like the 2 shades of green next to each other.
I also hung an antique mirror over the table on a hook we already had (a different mirror was hanging there before)
I definitely think I will move the hook down so that the mirror hangs lower. I can’t wait to “style” the rest of the table with some fall decor.
Have you worked with chalk paint before? Was it successful?
