Hi Homemade Ginger readers!! I’m so excited to be a part of Megan’s Summer Share Series! I hope you all are enjoying your summer, I know I am! It is definitely my favorite time of year.
When I think of summer, I think of bright colors, warm sunshine, barbeques, picnics, festivals, and of course, the 4th of July! Which is next week… Seriously can’t believe it. Already!
So in honor of SUMMER, I decided my little girl needed a fun, bright, happy outfit that she can wear to all the fun summer events. And why not make it 4th of July(ish) too!
The skirt I made using the Circle Skirt tutorial from the uber talented Dana from Made. It such a fun, twirly little skirt. My little girl started dancing almost as soon as I put her in it. I think she felt very girly and pretty, with good reason!
The top. Oh, the top! I’m in love. The top I made using the Geranium Dress Pattern from Rae at Made By Rae. I just finished up my first two dresses from that pattern, which you can see here. I was smitten with the dresses and the sweet little bodice and decided that I wanted to make a top with the bodice pattern. The pattern actually comes with a top option that is totally adorable as well, but for this outfit I wanted a more fitted top to go with the twirly skirt.
The idea for the bow came from this pin on my Sewing For Girls board on Pinterest. Believe it or not, I did have the idea for the top before I saw that little shirt from Zara, but they are very similar. 🙂
Oh my stars, I think buttons are my new love on little girls clothes! They are so sweet! (Oh, and those curls, I’m crazy about those too!)
Buttons are just such a cute and simple way to add some interest to an outfit.
Obligatory cute kid photo. 🙂
So there you have it. A sweet, fun, airy little outfit for a sweet, fun and sassy little girl 🙂
Thanks so much for having me, Megan!
super cute!! What a fun series :o) Do you need any more bloggers?
