Journal Project #3 and Ginger Jamboree #3!

I can’t wait for you all to link up your amazing recipes and tutorials for the Ginger Jamboree Link Party!

Before linking up, I wanted to share a fun and quick project that I did to embellish a plain cardstock journal. This would make great Christmas gifts or stocking stuffers!

I don’t know what else to call what I did except a “Journal Headband”. It’s so easy! You will need a plain journal (these came in a pack at Target), a 2 inch strip of fabric (the length will depend on the size of your journal), elastic, an exacto knife, sewing machine and glue gun.

First, you want to make a tube by sewing the fabric right sides together.

If you want to add a flower, do so now before attaching it to the journal.

Next, fold the ends under and insert a small piece of elastic into each end. Sew closed.

Take the knife and make 2 slits in the back cover.

Insert the elastic and pull tight.

Attach with a hot glue gun, you want the elastic to be pulled very tight or the headband will be too loose.

Here is how it should look from the back.

And you are done!  A cute journal headband you made yourself! You can check out how I fixed up journal #1 and journal #2 if interested!

Ok…now it’s YOUR TURN! Link up below! I will feature my favorite projects next week!

Here are the “rules” if you could so kindly abide by them.
1. Link up to your blog post, not your blog homepage.
2. Please visit a few other links and give them some comments and hopefully they will do the same for you!
3. Link back here in your blog post. It would be amazing if you could
include the Ginger Jamboree button (code is below), but a text link
works as well!
4. Only link up tutorials, DIY projects, recipes and those types of
things. Other random blog posts that don’t apply will be deleted.
