I’ve been a little MIA lately. You were probably wondering where I went and if I’d come back. I’m still here, promise! I finally completed (kinda) the thing I had planned for our dining room wall. I mentioned wanting to do something with it after we painted it teal.
I’ve been collecting white plates for the past few months. They are mostly from thrift stores, and I don’t think I paid over $3 for any of them. I did find a few at Marshalls on clearance. Once I thought I had collected enough to start a little plate collage, I tried laying them out on the ground.
Then I traced each plate onto newspaper and started taping it up on the wall.
After I came up with something I liked, I just started nailing the hangers right into the newspaper. Well, first I made a little mark with a sharpie so that I’d know where to nail.
You do have to measure down a few inches based on how your plate hanger fits onto the plate.
And here they are!
It definitely looks smaller in pictures than it does in real life. Although, I probably will still keep collecting plates and adding to it.
I love how it contrasts with the darker wall color! I’ve been working on a few other projects around the house that I’m excited to share!
