Real Food Recap

My real food challenge is over.  I really loved the challenge and think we did pretty well on sticking to the rules.  We did cheat a few times around Christmas by making some yummy treats for Christmas eve and Christmas day.  The other downfall was that we had lots of leftovers and ended up eating those up not to waste food.  So, there were a few days where we were definitely not eating real food, but overall we stuck to it.

For all those reasons I"m giving myself a B+ for my real food grade.

Here's a little recap of some of the things I made:

Healthy Snacks

Stretching a chicken for 6 recipes

Whole wheat cottage cheese pancakes

Whole wheat brownies

Peanut butter chocolate oatmeal bars

Homemade microwave popcorn

I plan to keep cooking with a lot of the same principles of my real food challenge.  I'm sure there will be a little more "cheating" going on, but I have tried some really great recipes and I think I've learned that substituting with whole wheat flour and cutting out white sugar really isn't as hard as it seems...and you can still make yummy treats without all the processed sugar.  I hope to keep sharing real food recipes as an ongoing series.  I've actually tried a few new real food things out since the challenge has ended!

I'll be back with my January challenge rules!
