Repurposing Day 5: Sweater Covered Headband

Welcome to Day 5 of 30 Days of Repurposing

As promised, I will be showing you how I made the coordinating headband for the ruffled sweater tutorial.

It’s super simple! You just need some scraps, a headband, a sewing machine or serger and a glue gun.

First, you are going to take a long strip and glue it to the headband, making sure it’s really pulled tight. Your “seam” will be on the underside of the headband.
Now to make the bow.  Take a square of sweater (however large you want your bow to be, no set pattern for this.)
Fold in half and serge or sew.

Turn right side out and serge or zig zag the ends together.

Now take a small strip and fold in half and sew to make a tiny loop.

Put the loop over the long rectangle and you have a bow!  You may need to adjust and make the loop smaller so that the bow is “pinched” in the center. Just play with it until you like it.

Hot glue it on the headband

Done! Cute little headband for fall and winter!

You could even make one for yourself if you are the headband wearing type

Check out all my other 30 Days projects!
