Although Lula's quilt has been finished for quite some time, I just haven't gotten around to doing a post on it.
This project is probably the one I'm most proud of. It was my first attempt at a "real" quilt.
My mom helped me come up with the pattern. This was our inspiration!
I love how it looks with the yellow bed I madeover as well as the robin's egg blue walls.
The simple embroidery hoops are also perfect for that spot, although Lula likes to knock them off the walls during naptime.
I even did all the quilting myself! I used my mom's long armed quilter to do this loopy pattern!
And even the back turned out super cute!
I just pieced together some leftover scraps for a simple backing.
Lula loves to lounge on her special big girl quilt. (don't mind the nail polish smudge on her foot, we had just painted her toes!)
Oh, and remember these curtains for the room?
I thought everyone would like to see how they look with the curtain tiebacks I made.
I also diy-ed a light fixture for Lula's room that I will be sure to post soon!

Such a sweet room and a precious little one :o) The quilt is amazing. I love the colors in the quilt, the wall color and the yellow bed. You can tell that you put lots of love in this room. What paint color did you use on the walls? It looks so pretty :o)
ReplyDeleteI saw this room on another blog and just had to stop by and let you know that Lula's room has become the inspiration for our nursery! We don't have a need for a nursery... yet... but hopefully soon! And it will have all the same colors as Lula's room :) Thanks for the inspiration! xo
ReplyDeleteLove it! So sunny and bright!
ReplyDeleteWould you be able to share the quilt pattern? It is just what I have been looking for for my little girl's new big-girl bed. I like how the squares are bigger, making it look less "busy". I love to sew, but I am relatively new to quilting.
