a budding artist

Lula has taken up painting these days while mom is tending to baby Jane.

She’s got some skills.

Baby Jane’s current hobby is napping. She also has some mad skills.

scrappy flower headband

We had a family photo shoot yesterday, so I decided to whip up a new headband for baby Jane.  I followed this fun tutorial for making flower pins, added a piece of felt and attached it to one of Lula’s old headbands and voila! I think it’s pretty sweet.

Two Weeks

I don’t have anything crafty or artsy to post, but I thought I’d share some photos of what life has consisted of these days with a 2 week old and a 2 yr old.
Here’s tiny baby Jane on an awesome quilt that my mom made us for our 5 yr anniversary!

Hello World!

Introducing miss Jane Suzanne Kapple. Born on Aug 2nd at 8:17 a.m. Weighing in at 5 lbs 3oz, 18 inches long. And she has red hair like her mommy and big sister!
We are home and happy! Little Jane is doing great despite some feeding and weight issues.  She is absolutely precious in every way and such a joy already. Here are some more pictures taken by our fabulous friend, Donna:

It’s baby time!

Here I am today at 37 1/2 weeks pregnant. We found out on Friday that we have to be induced tonight, 3 weeks earlier than we were planning on little Kapple to arrive! The baby has been measuring very small and not growing enough and the Dr’s think that it will thrive better outside of me than inside of me.  Hopefully by this time tomorrow, we will be holding a very tiny baby in our arms! Please keep us all in our prayers as we check into the hospital tonight.
I’m sure my next update will be a baby announcement!

New Diaper Bag!

I knew I wanted to make a new diaper bag for baby #2 because I was just not satisfied with the one I made when I was pregnant with Lula. I wanted a bag that was nice and big and deep but still resembled a purse. I found this pattern on etsy and it looked super cute and easy.
I also fell in love with this fabric by Joel Dewberry. I am kind of obsessed with it. I thought it would be the perfect gender neutral fabric without looking too “babyish”.
The coordinating brown fabric is also by Joel Dewberry. It’s perfect because it has a little more texture than a solid color, but still doesn’t take away from the main fabric.
I did add a few extra pockets to the inside of the bag that the pattern didn’t call for.
I can’t wait to start using it!
